Acoelorraphe wrightii
Palm which is native to marshy areas, on occasions near the sea.
Forms shoots from early age and, in time, grows to form large groups of impenetrable thin trunks covered in a brown fibre.
Has light green leaves which are silvery on the back, with spiny orange coloured petioles.
It adapts well to clay soils, but grows better in sunny spots in rich soil which is slightly acid and not lacking in moisture.
In soil which is too alkaline it can suffer from lack of manganese and potassium.
